It’s all about growing in silence. – I’m reminded of the bamboo tree. Once it is planted properly it stays underground and grows for years with no sign it’s doing anything. It absorbs all of the nutrients of the soil, the rain water and stays in a humble position until it’s time to break through the soil or in other words it becomes groundbreaking. We can learn a lesson from the bamboo. If we take advantage of where we have been planted with an attitude of preparation we too can become groundbreaking in our respective fields at the right time. We don’t have to announce to the world every step we are making. Sometimes it good to grow in silence until you become groundbreaking

Weapons of Mass Distraction
Have you ever been at a place in life when you are focused; locked in on purpose and seeing progress then all of a sudden something out of left field gets your attention? It’s won’t necessarily be a bad thing but it’s not where your focus should be at the time. Most distractions come from people or places that have good intentions for you. No matter how small that thing may seem it can be a weapon of mass distraction because it shifts your focus and attention and gets you out of your lane. It’s sort of like if you are driving down the street and see an old friend and you blow your horn and wave but when you look up you see that you are swerving out of your lane and about to cause and accident. That’s what distractions do. Any distraction could be massive because they greatly increase your chance of making a mistake. Let’s strive to do better at recognizing distractions when they come so we can stay on point.
Background Apps
Have you ever had a day when your smartphone battery seemed to be draining quicker than usual and then found out there were unusable apps running in the background. Those apps may have been useful at some point but at the moment they need to be closed because of the strain on the power supply. That’s similar to what happens to us when we are pursuing purpose but have too many other things that don’t fit into our life’s application. Today I encourage us all to recognize what needs to be in our app called purpose and if we find ourselves getting drained too quickly shutdown some of the background apps.
It’s Your Move!
Have you ever seen two people playing a game of checkers and one of the players get distracted and miss the move of the other player. Then there is a that awkward pause. Eventually the player that just move would then say “It’s Your Move”. That’s the same type of situation that some of us are in. Sometimes we say that we are waiting on God but He has already made a move but we were distracted. In those times we wonder why we are not seeing the manifestation of some things we prayed for or things are just not lining up. Maybe God is saying I already know what’s going to happen next, there is already a strategy in place but right now “It’s Your Move.”
